Per Online; The dryer in our apartment shares a vent with the communal dryer in the laundry room next door. There is really strong fabric softener smell all through the apartment, and there will frequently be moisture inside our dryer when not in use. I did find code M1502.2 in the 2015 Seattle Residential Code stating all exhausts must be independent of each other.
