On 23-Jan, the water heater in my unit began leaking water, causing significant water damage to my apartment and the two apartments below me. The landlord hired a restoration company, which was forced to stop working when the building materials in my unit tested positive for asbestos. An abatement contractor removed the damaged material and did other demolition work in the bathroom. Now the unit is not habitable.Prior to the leak, I had already given notice of my intent

Our apartment began pouring brown water from the ceiling on 1/23/2020. Thus, damaging the ceiling, lighting, beams, flooring, walls and damaged plumbing on all apartments. We told the management company within ten mins of the incident. That Friday 1/24/2020 when Fisher restoration came out they tested the walls for asbestos and it came back as positive so they told us they couldn't remove any of the damage to the apartment. The owners are only repairing some of the leaks. Although they have relocated us to a hotel, they are still not addressing all of the leaks in my unit. Some of the repairs has exposed mild and asbestos.
