My husband and I vacated our apartment at Sitka Apartments on August 1, 2026. Management withheld $300 from our security deposit for a charge listed as "Move-out: Excessive Wall Scratches/Repairs: Partial Paint $60/hour: 5 Hours." We repeatedly requested documentation substantiating this specific $300 charge and explaining how it was calculated. Hello,My landlord is violating the MFTE contract for my unit and attempting to raise the rent 48.27%, well beyond the limit of 4.5%. They are citing an irrelevant state law as justification for a supposed exception allowing them to raise the rent and illegal amount.

The hot water in my unit (and reportedly throughout the complex) has been consistently below the legal minimum temperature since April 23, 2026. Per recent measurements taken in our bathroom taps, the water temperature is reaching a maximum of 95°F in the evenings. Management has been aware of the issue since April 23rd. In a building-wide email sent on May 4, 2026, management admitted that the boilers are still malfunctioning and awaiting a replacement part, but they have provided no timeline
