The owners have illegally cut down a large protected red maple which sits entirely within their property boundary. It is at least 30 inches in diameter. They have cut down all branches as of yesterday Friday March 13th.Trees of this species and size require a permit for pruning more than a nominal or 20% per year amount. They have cut down 100% of the branches leaving only the trunk. They are obviously waiting to see if anyone complains, or if the tree dies, which is now likely, to ratio
