During the power outage due to the vehicle collision at 12th and 65th St, our building had no backup electricity for the garage gate, the stairways on all floors were pitch black, and our key fob access into the building and courtyard was disabled. Had someone needed emergency help, responders would have had no way of getting to them. There needs to be a backup power source for residents to have the basic ability to come and go safely because there currently is none.

During the power outage in the Roosevelt neighborhood on August 23, 2026, the building lost power. During the outage, there were no emergency lights functioning in any of the building's stairwells, which are the only means of entering or exiting the building. As a result, residents attempting to use the stairwells were required to navigate in complete darkness unless they happened to have a flashlight or a phone with them.
