I signed a lease for an apartment at #2 for 2612 22nd ave w., with a start date of October 1 2025 and paid over $3,000 in deposit, fees, and first month's rent. When I arrived today on move-in day, the unit was not delivered in habitable condition. Tenant lives in top rear unit of triplex which has flat roof that leaks. Water damage has caused a large crack in the ceiling (which keeps getting larger). Ceiling beam is swollen with water. Tenant sets out 5-6 buckets when it rains to catch the water and is concerned that ceiling will collapse soon, if nothing is done about it. Also says the door seal is not weathertight. Tenant says owner is 'blowing him off'.
