Multiple tenants in our apartment building have been questioning the construction work that has been ongoing for the last several weeks, almost every weekday. Firstly, we are concerned about potentially a lack of permits for all the work being done (I have not been able to find any permits in the public record).  Some of the work that we can tell is being done/includes: Replacement of breezeway/walkways, window replacement, updates to the roof and facade. Related to unclear permitting,

According to the renter's handbook, it is the landlord's duty to provide an operating smoke detector/alarm. Over 40 days ago, I submitted a request through the apartment's maintenance portal to get a replacement smoke alarm (existing one continues to false-alarm despite cleaning and battery replacements). After following up 4 times, the request has still not been resolved.
