New bldg owners are raising the rent by $1000.00, without proper notification. I feel this is exorbitant, especially since there are repairs needed. There are no vents in the kitchen and bathroom, broken washer.

HOUSING & POTA--per phone call--his unit was tested for lead paint and tested 6 times higher that legally allowed. Building is old, possible asbestos in unit as well. Management is scheduled to make repairs but only gave him a weeks notice to move all of his belongings out of unit. He was advised that the repairs would take 2 days. Is this legal notice for such extensive repairs and time to move out?
