Apartment flooded June 25th due to burst pipe. Tenant had to move everything out of home, renters insurance covers $6000, which only took care of relocating her belongings. Tenant is still displaced, having to pay to live somewhere else, and landlord is asking her to pay rent. Seeking tenant rights.

On March 30, 2026, I submitted a written payment arrangement request to Thrive Communities Management via email, requesting a short extension to pay my full balance by April 15, 2026 due to a temporary payroll delay. I received no response to this request, which violates RCW 59.18.630 requiring landlords to offer a payment plan before proceeding with eviction.On April 15, 2026, Thrive Communities issued an eviction summons.
