I am a tenant at Coppins Well in Seattle. I received a lease-renewal email stating that I need to complete the renewal offer "to avoid falling into default with an increased month-to-month rate." I am concerned that this wording is intimidating and misleading because it suggests a lease default when the issue appears to be renewal or month-to-month conversion. My understanding is that "default" usually refers to a tenant violating a lease obligation, such as nonpayment or breach of lease terms.

What are rights. Mgmt. failed to pay fee from SCL which cost the tenant not to have electricity for 2days. Can tenant be compensated? What are rights?
