This residence has a converted garage in the back that they are advertising for rent, which appears to be violating at least a few building codes. The unit's toilet and shower are basically in the kitchen, only separated by a shower curtain. There does not appear to be a ventilation fan.

I noticed in a craigslist posting that the accessory dwelling unit attach to this building has a toilet in the living area (effectively the toilet is part of the kitchenette, separated only with a curtain!). Caller lives in the basement apartment. Her father, Jim Nicholas, Bldg Inspector for King Co., told her that because the furnace and hot water heater are in her basement bedroom that it is not safe. He also put latches on her windows because they would not open. The cable installer said that the electrical cabinet is not safe and a person could be electrocuted because the wiring is not properly covered.
