A soon to start development (early design guidance number 3039544-EG) has an identified existing exceptional tree (30.5" diameter California bay tree) on permit application drawings. We witnessed the property owner (Ben Maritz) of one of the parcels (121 11th Ave E) directing a tree cutting service to cut down the tree. We asked for proof the tree removal permit since it was not posted and owner acknowledged his intent to remove the tree and pay the penalty before the new tree ordinance takes
