My mother, Christina Lee, is a resident of Axis Apartments on 123 2nd Ave N. She reported to me today that on Monday, July 4, she elevator she was riding in experienced a sudden drop from the ground floor to the -1 floor. She was airborne during the drop and slammed into the floor when the elevator halted. I learned that Axis Apartments have not taken the elevator out of service. They did put a warning sign on it several days after the incident, however as far as I know the
