I experienced a safety issue in my apartment building's elevator at approximately 11:50am on June 5, 2026.  I was riding from P2 in the underground parking garage, and somewhere between what I estimate as floors 2 to 4 I heard a loud BOOM and experienced a deceleration event, bobbing in mid air. This was particularly terrifying because my building's elevator has been out of service 6 times this year with 21 total days of outages.
