Sounds like an illegal 3rd unit in the basement - permit history indicates duplex. Each of the 3 levels of the house is a unit. Mother of caller called concerned because there is a furnace in the closet of her daughter's basement bedroom. The windows in this bedroom do not sound they meet minimum HBMC (7"x 8" - permanently shut & at shoulder height 18"x 24" a window that pushes out to open). Wants housing inspection. Enter from alley and go down the stairs to get to this unit.
